Posts written by various volunteers of the Vermont Libertarian Party
We have four Libertarian candidates for the Vermont State House that need your help this coming weekend.
Can you donate 30-60 minutes to make a few phone calls next Saturday, Sunday or Monday? This small contribution of your time will help our candidates win their primary elections.
We have about 15 libertarians volunteering from around the country to help. We need at least ten Vermont callers to really make this get out the vote effort effective. The more volunteers the faster we get the job done.
The National Libertarian Party has designed an online get out the vote call system that can direct resources to important races. This system is called BallotBase. Vermont will be the third state to use this system. They?ve had good success in the California and Texas races this system was used in. Now we want to help get 3-5 Vermont candidates elected to the State House.
The system is very simple to use. We create an account for you. We?ll give you some training this week. Then on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (whatever works for your schedule) you will log in, dial the phone number on your screen, read the script, and continue to the next call.
If you can help make calls, then please e-mail me, and I?ll make sure we get you setup in the system for this weekend.
A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that a Vermont middle school violated a student’s free-speech rights when administrators ordered the 13-year-old to cover up images on a shirt critical of President Bush, and then punished him when he refused.
