The Essex Libertarian Party nominated and endorsed Varpilah Chase as the Libertarian candidate for selectboard of Essex, Vermont.
“I grew up in Essex, I was raised in Essex and I went through the Essex school system, so I feel owe a lot to Essex for allowing me to be who I am. As such, I feel that if there is a way I may help repay that debt, then I should try.” stated Varpilah.
“I believe that as a town we need to grow, not just economically, but culturally, intellectually, and as a people but as Edward Abbey said, “Growth for the sake of growth, is the ideology of a cancer cell”. As selectman, the issues I am most concerned about is how to help guide Essex’s future and how do we make it better than the year before. There will be many issues that arise from school budgets, to budget funding, to zones and regulations, which they all will carry a different viewpoint and a capacity to understand the intricacies of the issues but we will still need to address it as, how does this better the town and is it what we really want in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years plus.”
